Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway The Early Years Volume 1 1985-6 |
||
During the mid to late 1980s I shot around 20 hours of video of the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. Almost all of the material is in good condition and has transfered to PC at a good quality. I used a Sony HVC4000P video camera, a Sony SL-F1UB portable video recorder, an external microphone, and some tripoding. All editing on these DVDs was carried out on a PC from DV format captures. The quality is as good as I can get with the equipment used at the time.
The main feature is roughly an hour long and features Avonside 0-4-0T
Cadbury Bournville No 1 on two trips and a train ride,
BR Class 14
0-6-0 Diesel Hydraulic D9537 on a trip and a cab ride,
Toddington Station, a look at Stanway Viaduct,
Bagnall 0-6-0ST Byfield No 2 being steamed,
Peckett 0-4-0ST John shunting,
and Mince Pie Specials with Bagnall 0-6-0ST Byfield No 2
The extra feature is about restoration at Toddington, including GWR 2-8-0 2807, the 15" Hunslet 0-6-0ST, views of GWR 2-8-0T 4277, views of Toddington yard, Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0DM D615, and Fowler 0-4-0DM. Locations include Toddington Station, Hailes Abbey, Didbrook bridges As far as I know this is the only material of Cadbury Bournville No.1, in service available commercially. The DVD was edited on the PC, encoded with TMPGENC with 2 pass variable bit rate, and duplicated on good quality media, all discs are printed. |
